Our crockpot is white. So, stains are highly visible, especially after making something tomato-based like our favorite crockpot tomato turkey and vegetable soup!! And although I've never noticed, I've often wondered if these stains ever transfer flavors from dish to dish.

I was determined to brand my crockpot look new once more!

When I first started researching how to make clean your crockpot, I was shocked at the amount of people that recommended using oven cleaner! I don't even utilize that (toxic) stuff in my oven, let alone on something that directly touches my family'south nutrient! That pick was definitely out.

I institute a few safer, healthier alternatives, but none of them worked as well as expected. So it came information technology came to me. I would use oven cleaner!! Well, not the kind that you purchase in the shop, but a recipe that I have been using for years to clean our oven.

Ingredients

  • Baking soda
  • Dawn Ultra liquid dish lather (the blueish kind)
  • White vinegar in a spray bottle

If you lot do not already accept a spray bottle of vinegar, I HIGHLY recommend information technology. Yous will find yourself using information technology to clean EVERYTHING and earlier you know it, you'll eliminate all other spray cleaners in your home!

Directions

  1. Sprinkle your crockpot liberally with baking soda.
  2. Squirt in dish soap and scrub with your hand in a circular move until it forms a consistent paste.
  3. Spray with white vinegar and continue scrubbing in a circular motion. If the consistency becomes too wet (the mixture is dripping downward the sides, etc.), then add together more than baking soda until a paste is formed again.
  4. Let sit overnight.
  5. Add a small amount of warm h2o to a non-scratch cleaning pad (these are my favorite). And, scrub, scrub, scrub…I'one thousand non going to lie, you will need to utilise a footling elbow grease BUT your crockpot will look similar new!
